ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Today, during the Eurogroup in Luxembourg, a wide debate on negative effects on public accounts caused by inflation has largely exceeded the expected estimates. The Italian proposal presented by the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti has received numerous consents, net of the traditional perplexities of the ‘frugal’ countries. “To the Commission – says Giorgetti – we asked for a further reflection on the issue in order to correct interpretation of the factors relevant for the respect of the current stability pact. We are confident that good technical reasons will be able, with appropriate insights and appropriate forms, to find the correct interpretation of the rules also within the energy clause already approved with decisions consistent with the sustainability of public finance”.
