ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We must face the Electrolux case, with determination and transparency, as already happened in the passage of the Whirlpool sites in Beko. At the next meeting on 15 June we expect the company to present a completely different proposal from the current one, for us unacceptable: a plan that is sustainable on the social and employment level, which can be shared and supported. We will do our part.” So the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in a social post.
“The crisis of domestic appliance does not concern individual companies or individual countries: it is a European challenge that requires a common response to protect employment, investment and productive capacity. For this reason, in the last Competitive Council we promoted a non-paper to ask the European Commission to recognize the sector as strategic, as well as automotive,” he recalled.
The document proposes “the definition of a European Plan dedicated to the sector, with measures to support investments, productive innovation and competitiveness of European plants, guarantee reciprocity regarding extra-competition EU and intervene on CBAM, ETS, Industrial Accelerator Act and European tools to support demand, on the model of Italian home appliances Bonus. This is the first line on which the competition of all is necessary because we must reach the goal already in the coming months”.
