ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The health mission promoted by Ripartiamo continues in Sri Lanka, with the support of the Artemisia ETS Foundation and Piccini Wines, a project that is transforming solidarity into concrete assistance, care and hope for hundreds of people. A mission that, day after day, is reaching some of the most fragile realities of the country: from the orphanages of Negombo, Kandy and Dambulla to the most isolated communities, where access to a specialist visit, a drug or adequate therapy can represent a valuable opportunity.
Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui, President of Ripartiamo, who is present on the territory with his children, the Secretary General Mariacarmela and their families. A presence that also returns the profoundly human dimension of an initiative built on closeness, listening and willingness to share in person the difficulties of the people encountered.
Dr. Walter Morale, head of the UOC of Nephrology in Ragusa, assisted by Dr. Chiara Verrone. The team has carried out neurological and cardiovascular specialist visits, also intervening at the Kandy public hospital.
The first results already tell the scope of the mission: about 350 people, among children and adults, have been visited, have been distributed drugs of first necessity and have been identified and prescribed therapies specific for about 60 patients in particularly delicate conditions, between dialized people and suffering from chronic diseases.
Particularly significant is the intervention in the tribal community of the Weddha, in the eastern area of Sri Lanka, where about 50 people were visited, reaching a population living far from the main health centres of the country.
The mission will continue until 18 August, with the aim of reaching a total of 700 people assisted.
A commitment to which the Artemisia ETS Foundation has chosen to participate concretely, supporting Dr. Verrone’s journey and providing first aid medicines and healthcare.

For Giorlandino, the result achieved takes on an even deeper value because it comes from the ability to put together professionalism, volunteerism and solidarity.
“See doctors and volunteers to reach orphanages, hospitals and communities away from large centers means giving a real meaning to the word assistance. A drug delivered, a diagnosis formulated in time or a properly indicated therapy can change the fate of a person. This is what makes this mission extraordinary and that drives us to support it with conviction.”.
The trip is not yet finished. In the coming days, the team will continue to move through Sri Lanka with the goal of reaching hundreds more people.
