Cdp, the renegotiation of loans granted to the Regions and Autonomous Provinces

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Renegotiation of loans granted by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti a Regions and Autonomous Provinces approved by the Board of Directors of CDP at the end of April.

The transaction provides the interested entities with the opportunity to reshape the eligible loans repayment plan (respecting the principle of financial equivalence) allowing to free in 2026 and in 2027 resources to be allocated to interventions for the benefit of the territory.

The operation potentially will allow Regions and Autonomous Provinces to redefine the rate of loans for a total residual debt of approximately 17.7 billion euros and follows the analogous initiative promoted by CDP in support of Municipalities, Provinces and Metropolitan Cities, ended on 30 April last, which has led to renegotiating a residual debt of approximately 7.5 billion euros, generating total savings, for the two-year period 2026 million-2027 euros.

“The ongoing operation – we read in a note – is part of the wider framework of the activities that CDP carries out in support of the development of territorial institutions, listening to the local communities’ requests to address, in particular, the challenges that characterize the current macroeconomic context.”.
