ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, met at Palazzo Chigi the leaders of the majority – Matteo Salvini, Antonio Tajani and Maurizio Lupi – for the usual comparison on the main issues of government action. “ Among the themes addressed, particular attention was devoted to the extension of the National Escape Clause (national safeguard clause) also to investments in the energy sector, obtained by the Italian Government thanks to the initiative promoted at European level – we read in a note of Palazzo Chigi -.
In the course of the meeting, full sharing emerged on the hypothesis of access to the greater flexibility allowed by European rules and to concentrate in the next two years the greater ability to spend on the contrast to expensive energy. It has also been reiterated that any decision to access the National Escape Clause for defence, security and energy expenditure will be taken in full compliance with Parliament’s prerogatives and will be submitted to the planned approval procedure.”.
