Halloween has been over for a few minutes and for Mariah Carey it is already time to think about Christmas. Like every first November, the American singer published on social media his now traditional video announcing the beginning of the Christmas season, accompanied by the inevitable “It’s time!”.
This year the video is set in a New York club on the evening of 31 October. Carey, in a new punk style, performs on the notes of Hermit, a song by the rock project Chick, to which he had worked in the nineties without advertising his involvement. When the clock marks midnight, the singer launches to the audience and the scene changes: reappear dressed at party, on top of a giant Christmas tree, while the notes of All I Want for Christmas Is You begin.
All I Want for Christmas Is You, released in 1994 on the album Merry Christmas, soon became one of the most popular Christmas songs ever and every December returns to the charts of the United States. In recent years Carey has transformed this return into a fixed social appointment, with always different videos playing on the idea of his awakening after eleven months of waiting. The message, however, remains the same: for her Christmas begins on November 1, no matter what the calendar says.
