ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Chamber of Deputies approved the motion for a resolution on Cinema and audiovisual with 218 votes in favour and 6 against. The text now passes to the Senate exam.
“The House’s free way to reform cinema and audiovisual is a concrete result, fruit of the majority contribution and opposition. A cohesion model that focuses on the sector’s interest.” The Minister of Culture declared this, Alessandro Giuli.
“With this measure, we wish a stilnovo in relations with cinema, based on dialogue, trust and mutual responsibility. The establishment of the Agency, three-year programming, certain temporal windows and the strengthening of controls lay the foundations for more transparent procedures and predictable times. The procedure also provides for the reorganization of the tax credit, according to criteria attentive to the size of the enterprises, the quality of the works and the congruity of the costs. Work protection is an essential part of change. The new provisions strengthen social security guarantees and provide for the revision of discontinuity allowances and social shock absorbers, in compliance with the specificities of artists, technicians, professionals and workers. The establishment of a solidarity fund will provide concrete support for workers under conditions of economic fragility. The House’s vote confirms the centrality of Parliament and gives concrete form to the appeal that, at the David ceremony in Donatello, I had addressed all political forces: working together for a shared reform of the national audiovisual system. I thank the Commission for Culture, Science and Education, its President Federico Mollicone, the rapporteur Gimmi Cangiano and the entire Aula for the work done and the work done.
