ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Mimit confirmed the path of reindustrialization of the Bekaert plant in Macchiareddu (CA), which involves 160 workers, following the agreement reached with Nuova Icom, Sardinian company active in the industrial plant. “The industrial perspective identified for the Macchiareddu plant is a concrete solution. Today we have verified the solidity of the project that allows to look with greater confidence to the safeguard of the 160 places of work, with a possible significant increase”, explained the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso. “We will continue to follow the operation together with the Sardinia Region and the trade union organizations, so that the path can proceed in the expected time and translate into an actual relaunch of the site,” he added. The agreement provides for the acquisition of the factory specialized in the production of metal ropes for tyres and parts of the plants, with the reabsorption of the workers and the start of a new productive activity.
The operation, followed carefully by Mimit, opens a concrete perspective for the industrial future of Sardinia and is the result of a shared work between institutions, enterprises and unions through a determined action aimed at transforming crisis into new opportunities for development and work. The path started strengthens the commitment of the Ministry and represents a stimulus to face with determination the other tables still open, with the aim of protecting the work and relaunching the productive sites.
