From the next academic year hundreds of freshmen from Bocconi will be able to live in the buildings that a few months ago hosted the athletes of the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina. The university has published the conditions for the allocation of accommodation in the Olympic Village of Scalo Romana for 2027-28: a single room with private bathroom will cost 986 euros per month.
The rate includes utilities, internet connection, weekly cleaning with linen change, 24-hour concierge and access to public areas. The kitchens will be shared. The amount can be updated by the end of January 2027, so the 986 euro indicated now are not necessarily the final price. Considering the eleven months between September and July, expenditure would be 10,846 euros. At the time of the application will also serve a deposit pairs to two monthly, that is, 1,972 euros. The payment of the fee will be divided into three installments.
Students enrolled in the first year of a three-year degree, jurisprudence or biennial master’s degree may apply. Any remaining free places will also be made available to students of the following years. The dates of the booking sessions have not yet been communicated: the links to submit the application will be activated on the University website on the established days and the accommodation will be allocated until exhaustion.
The accommodation will last from the end of August to the end of July and cannot be confirmed automatically for the second year. Those who have lived in the Village will have the priority in the assignment of a place in the other residences of Bocconi.
The formula used by the university to present the initiative – an extension of its campus – must be specified. The buildings will not become a residence owned by Bocconi. The complex belongs to the company Villaggio Scalo Romana and will be managed by Campus X; the university will collect the questions and send the students data to the manager, without being part of the subsequent contract. For the academic year 2026-27 Bocconi had already reserved 730 of the approximately 1,700 places available: at the moment it was not specified if the contingent will remain identical also in 2027-28.
The transformation into a student was already planned during the design of the Olympic Village. The complex, built in the former railway port of Porta Romana, includes six new buildings and two industrial buildings recovered. After the Paralympics began work to adapt the ground floors, complete the common spaces and open restaurants, shops, gyms and study rooms. The residential part had been realized from the beginning thinking about its subsequent use, so as to conclude the conversion in about four months.
With 1,700 seats, the Village will be the largest partner student in Italy. According to COIMA it will cover about 6 percent of the Milanese question remained unanswered, estimated in 30 thousand beds. For the first year of activity, in addition to the 730 places in Bocconi, 135 accommodation for the right to study in public universities and 245 were booked directly through the complex site.
The Bocconi offers separate seats in a double room at reduced rate: at the moment they are indicated to 615 euro monthly and are assigned priority to students with an ISEE university not exceeding 44 thousand euros.
