ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “I hope this is the last assembly of the Abi in which the government is a member of some important banking institutions, I believe that the role that the public shareholder has played has exhausted, but the attention and rigour with which we will continue to monitor.” Thus the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, during the Assembly Abi 2026.
“It would be limiting to be pleased with the data, strong of their renewed solidity banks can and must contribute to bringing the Italian economy to a more sustained level of growth,” says Giorgetti.
“We will continue to confront us with different positions, but always with the awareness of the strategic and constitutional role of banks for well-being, the development of society and national security,” the minister explains, recalling that “the Italian banks are among the most solid and profitable in Europe also because their country is releasing the accounts in order”.
