Italgas presents the Strategic Plan 2026-2032, investments for 13 billion euros

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Italgas presents the Group’s Strategic Plan for the period 2026-2032. Total investments of 13.0 billion euros, up by +14,6% compared to the previous Plan 2025-2031, of which: 8.3 billion euros for the development, digitization and repurposing of gas infrastructure in Italy (+4.0%); 2,4 billion euros for the future ATEM races of distribution of gas (+59% compared to the previous Plan); 1.0 billion euros for the development and extension of the network EBITDA of 3,3 billion euros to 2032, with a total RAB of 21,7 billion euros, growing compared to the objectives set in Plan 2025-2031; EPS adjusted with growth above 9% CAGR in 2025-2032, in line with the adjusted EPS; CAGR 2025-20314 of the previous Plan
Guidance 2026 confirmed. Subdivision policy confirmed

The total investments previewed in the Plan in 2026-2032 amounted to 13,0 billion euros, in increase of 1,6 billion euros (+14.6%) regarding the previous Plan, excluding the impact of the cash-out for the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas. 8,3 billion euros of investments for the Italian gas distribution network and 2.4 billion for the future ATEM races The distribution of the gas in Italy remains to the center of the overall investment strategy with a 2% Of these, 8.3 billion euros, (equal to 64% of total investment), with an increase of 4% compared to the previous plan7 are intended for development, repurposing, upgrading and continuous technological and digital updating of the existing infrastructure. The increase is mainly driven by the new opportunities for digitization identified in arc Piano on assets ex 2i Rete Gas and by the upgrade of the networks acquired through the already awarded races.

This is a coherent approach in a rapidly changing energy landscape, marked by geopolitical instability, macroeconomic uncertainty and structural acceleration of energy demand driven by AI. Italgas, thanks to its innovative technologies, plays a central role in ensuring the security of the energy system and the sustainability of costs for families and enterprises, while at the same time allowing the decarbonization of molecules, leveraging on the existing infrastructure and limiting the burden. The Plan also includes the roll-out of Nimbus, the new generation smart meter “H2 ready” of Italgas, characterized by superior performance in terms of measurement and remote control, greater durability and measurement capacity up to a blending of hydrogen greater than 20%: the number of Nimbus meters installed has already exceeded the 200,000 units All investments increase the safety and resilience of the networks and make them increasingly smart and renewable volumes – a On biomethane, the plants today connected to the Group’s distribution network are 15, with a strong acceleration expected in the coming years. The Hyround Power-to-Gas pilot project in Sardinia proceeds as expected with the use of green hydrogen, in blending with natural gas or in pure form, at the service of local enterprises, of more than one hundred families and local public transport networks and additional R&D investments are planned on methane and odorization processes.

CIOCCA “TRAIETTORIA DI CRESCITA CON UNA VISIONE COERENTE”

“The Strategic Plan 2026-2032 consolidates a trajectory of growth that Italgas has pursued with far-sightedness and consistent vision.” Paolo Ciocca commented on the approval of the Strategic Plan 2026-2032. “The geopolitical instability has made it clear that energy security is based on the resilience and capillarity of infrastructure networks. Italgas is committed exactly in this: to create and manage smart, digital and flexible networks capable of strengthening the competitiveness of energy systems in which we operate and support the diversification of sources. A plan of this magnitude, 13 billion euros, is an act of responsibility for the communities and territories we serve, and a long-term commitment to the countries in which we are present.”.

GALLO “INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE FULCRO DEL NUOVO PIANO STRATEGICO”

“ Artificial Intelligence is an integral part of the Italgas operating model and is the core of this Plan.” Italgas CEO Paolo Gallo said so. “Applicated to operations, business processes and customer management, our “agents” are generating important efficiencies, improving service quality. This is an acceleration compared to the initial forecasts thanks to the experience gained in these years when digital transformation has permeated every aspect of our business, and the data has become the company’s mine – it has continued – The 13 billion euros of investments will make our network even smarter, capillary and flexible, ready also to welcome green molecules and support an energy system increasingly exposed to international instability and impacts on commodity markets. Together with the efficiencies we will be able to generate, these investments will contribute to making energy more accessible and competitive, with concrete benefits for the entire economic and social system of the countries in which we operate, promoting industrial development and long-term growth“.

“The ATEM races – continues Gallo – represent a significant opportunity to overcome the fragmentation that has historically curtailed the development of the sector. Each award is a step towards a more resilient and integrated infrastructure in a wider system. We will take advantage of these opportunities by leveraging the industrial strength, skills and investment capacity that the Group is able to set up. In the water sector, our investments in the digitalization of networks and in the reduction of losses have already begun to give concrete results. The new Plan will allow to halve water losses, promote greater reuse of water, further strengthen the quality levels of the service. Geoside helps all Group companies reduce energy consumption, using proprietary applications and sophisticated AI systems; this same innovative approach is offered to all Geoside Partners: the best energy is what is not consumed.”.
