EVIAN (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) – As part of his participation in the G7 Summit in Evian, the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, had a bilateral meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
The two leaders discussed the situation in the region also in the light of the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States, agreeing on the need to support international efforts to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. President Meloni reiterated Italy’s full support for the security of the United Arab Emirates and all the Gulf Nations.
The interview also made it possible to express appreciation for the excellent state of bilateral relations, bringing out the common desire to strengthen them further, starting from the strategic sectors of defence and investment and within the framework of the fruitful collaboration already initiated in the Mattei Plan for Africa.
