Infrastructure, Morelli “Ponte sul Stretto is not an expense but an investment”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The Strait Bridge “is not an expense but an investment that would grow the South. Many say that we propose the Bridge but that the rest of the infrastructure is a colabrodo. In reality, at the same time as the High Speed and the Bridge, the Mit has intended to invest more than 40 billion between Calabria and Sicily to improve the efficiency of infrastructure”. Alessandro Morelli, undersecretary of the Presidency of the Council with delegation to Cipess, interviewed by Claudio Brachino for the Primo Piano section of the agency Italpress.
“The Bridge, therefore, is fundamental to link the investments that we are already doing regardless; we want to realize what Europe is asking us because there is no diatribe between Italy and EU if to do or not the Bridge. The themes on which the government and the EU are reasoning are on critical issues and when there are infrastructures of this kind this is normal – he adds. The government has voted for a new decree, my hope is that in the next autumn there will be the new resolution Cipess, the definitive one, and from there the beginning of the work”.
Different topics have been discussed during the interview, from Europe to the League, to the Milan Communals. “We are preparing for the 2027 political elections to present the League in the best possible way. All the skills are welcome because every constructive criticism allows to achieve the objectives that, within the League, are absolutely common as liberal values, the theme of autonomy, a series of initiatives that affect the issue of security and the family more directly – explains Morelli. The League is preparing to present itself to the next Policies in the best possible form.”
And on the constituent assembly of the party of Roberto Vannacci Chiosa: “I have seen many known faces, to these people who have thought well to leave the League to go towards the National Future I wish good work…”.
Then the Comunali of Milan: the League “will organize a real primary session next weekend through the gazebos, where we invite the Milanese to participate to give us some suggestions on themes and people. My vote will go to Matteo Salvini who, being a Milanese political historian, our best minister and being linked to the city, I think it is the right person – says the undersecretary -. I’m convinced I’m going this way, and then he’ll decide what to do. The League intends to give a boost to the whole compagine of the center-right because it is fundamental not to leave in the hands of the great cities – it observes – because these give an address and the address taken by the mayors of the left is ideological. I will run Salvini, there will be primaries and we will see what will be the result.”
Finally, the Italian economy and Europe. “In the Italian economy there are lights and shadows. Today we are experiencing a historical situation regarding jobs, there has never occurred in the history of the Republic such a high number of workers available to enterprises. Shadows concern inflation. The results we read today, even for the possible resolution of the war in the Middle East, could give a great hand to a series of issues that touch us directly. For example, the closure of the Hormuz Strait has very heavy repercussions on areas that concern us as fertilizers. The Government – recalls Morelli – invested in a solid way reducing the cost of excise duty that is direct interest to all families. Italy has paid for years money to Europe being a net contributor always, so what is coming back is our money. Great openness” on the Stability Pact, “merit of the League that began immediately to talk about the need to expand the hypothesis to retouch it; but when the Italian money passes from Brussels and returns to Italy there is always a ‘mà. The EU tells us you havei love to derogate on the energy front but under its conditions, it is clear that this is a criticality because if the European model is that of Green Deal… I am not against a balanced transition and that allows the market to decide which model is best, but I demand that no one impose it because it is wrong from the market point of view and from the ideological point of view. I am amazed at the parties professing liberals and supporting this European government which is illiberal for these reasons,” he concludes.
