The Sun 24 Hours celebrates 160 years with a special edition

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – A collection cover that tells, through the language of visual art, over a century and a half of Italian history and editorial innovation. It is the homage that Il Sole 24 Hours dedicates to readers for its 160 years, with a special overload that will wrap the daily edition in newsstand tomorrow, anticipation of the celebrations that will have their fulcrum in the day open to the public Sunday 9 November at the Mudec – Museum of Cultures in Milan. A visual work that interprets 160 years of history. The overload is signed by Adriano Attus, creative director of the Sun 24 Hours: an original work that translates into a visual plot the memory, evolution and future projection of the daily. The artwork is built on a matrix of colorful geometric modules, each with a symbolic and temporal value: 70 black squares evoke as many years marked by epochal events in Italian and international history; 8 blue rectangles represent eight lustries of transition and transformation.

Five red squares tell five foundational decades, a synthesis of change and vision. The set consists of a symbolic story, a “logue-matrix” in which the number 160 becomes a map of time and, together, a narrative device: a grid that reflects the typographic origins of the newspaper, its digital transformation and growth as a multimedia publishing group. In this modular architecture there are also three key moments in the evolutionary history of the Sun 24 Hours. Black squares refer to the paper birth of the newspaper: represent the typographical origin, the rigour of the printed word and the strength of the paper as the first vehicle of information and economic culture. The blue, dynamic and vertical rectangles instead evoke the season of digital transformation, when the newspaper opens to the web, data and speed of real time, strengthening its informative mission.

Finally, the red squares tell the affirmation of the contemporary multimedia ecosystem – press, digital platforms, radio, news agency, books, podcasts, events and training – that today unites languages and tools in a modular and integrated editorial reality, which represents the foundations of the future. A visual system that synthesizes past and future, showing a newspaper capable of transforming itself faithful to its vocation: enlighten the facts, interpret the changes, accompany the choices.

The full programme of the day-event on Sunday, November 9 will be published in the supper, “160 YEARS together: train, participate, grow”, which will be held in the spaces of the Mudec – Museum of Cultures and at Talent House by The Adecco Group in Via Tortona, from 10 to 19:30. The day will be opened by the inaugural ceremony with Group President 24 ORE Maria Carmela Colaiacovo and director Fabio Tamburini, in which the celebratory stamp of the 160 years of the Sun 24 will be presented Hours. The closing of the day will be entrusted to the Ad of the Group 24 ORE Federico Silvestri.
