ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Approved definitively by the Assembly of Palazzo Madama unanimously the institution of the National Day in memory of journalists killed because of the performance of their profession.

“The Government welcomes the unanimous approval in the Senate of the bill establishing the National Day in memory of journalists killed because of their work. A recognition due and expected for many years. From today on, every 3 May, Italy will pay tribute to all those journalists who have lost their lives to ensure the right of citizens to be informed, bringing our eyes where otherwise they would not have arrived, in Italy as abroad. I think of figures like Cosimo Cristina, Mauro De Mauro, Giovanni Spampinato, Peppino Impastato, Mario Francese, Giuseppe Fava, Mauro Rostagno, Beppe Alfano, Giancarlo Siani, Walter Tobagi, Ilaria Alpi e Miran Hrovatin, Marco Luchetta, Alessandro SaÜa Ota, Dario D’Angelo, Antonio Russo, Enzo Baldoni, Andrea Rocchelli, Maria Grazia Cutuli, Almeri Men and women who have put their passion and professionalism at the service of all of us, and that we all have the duty to honor.” President Giorgia Meloni said so.
