ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Senate Chamber with 81 votes, 51 against and 7 abstentions, has definitively approved the delegation to the Government on sustainable nuclear energy. The measure was incardinated in the text approved by the Chamber and illustrated by Senator Rosso, on a mandate given to him on 22 July last from the 8th commission.
“Today is a historic day for Italy: Parliament has definitively approved the law on new nuclear power,” said Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. “Sustainable nuclear power, together with renewables, will make Italy a safe, independent and competitive country. Italy – adds – will have more energy for families and businesses. It is the direction that are taking the main countries of the world. We have kept the promise to approve the new nuclear in this legislature and bring in Italy the energy of the future. Now we are already at work for the next objective: to draw up implementing decrees to apply the law concretely. We will certainly do so by the end of the year,” the minister concludes.
