Strengthen the relations between Liguria and Georgia and foster new opportunities of collaboration in the fields of portualità and the logistics, international trade, innovation and technology. These are the main objectives of the mission of the Liguria Region in Georgia (USA), which will start today, Wednesday 23 September, in Savannah and will end Friday 25 September in Atlanta, with a delegation engaged in a series of meetings with institutions, enterprises, economic operators, universities and realities of research and innovation.
The delegation is led by the Chief of Cabinet of the president of the Liguria Region, Admiral Massimiliano Nannini, and includes representatives of Federlogistica, of the Authorities of Harbour System of the Ligurian Sea, University of Genoa, Genoa Airport, Agency in Liguria, Italian Institute of Technology, Liguria International and FILSE. In Atlanta there will also be two Ligurian companies, Cactus Holding and Firmamento Technologies, which will participate in meetings with the Georgia economic and innovation system.
Wednesday 23 September the day will be dedicated in particular to portualità, logistic and international trade. In the morning is previewed the visit to the Georgia Ports Authority, with a presentation dedicated to the activities and the prospects of development and a comparison with the representatives of the harbour authority, followed from the visit to the Garden City Terminal. In the afternoon, at the World Trade Center Savannah, will hold a meeting dedicated to the development of international trade and to the opportunities of economic collaboration between Georgia and Liguria, with a comparison with operators of logistics, import-export and international trade.

International relations are not a representative exercise, but a concrete tool to accompany our enterprises on foreign markets, attract investments and create new opportunities for young people and for the entire territory. The value of this initiative is also in the ability to present us as a system, with institutions, universities, research and productive world working together towards shared objectives. It is on this road that we intend to continue, consolidating dialogue with the United States, strategic partner for our economy, and making Liguria increasingly recognizable in international networks”.

Thursday, September 24th, in Atlanta, will be dedicated to institutional, economic and innovation relations. The morning will open at the Metro Atlanta Chamber with a comparison with representatives of the state of Georgia and the Chamber of Commerce of the metropolitan area. At the center of the meeting will be the protocol of understanding between Georgia and Liguria, the promotion of trade and investments and the opportunities of collaboration in the fields of logistics, advanced manufacturing, automation, financial and technological services, automotive, electric mobility and aerospace.
To follow, the delegation will visit Tech Square, one of the main innovation policies of Atlanta, and the ATDC, center dedicated to support startups and technological enterprises, to deepen possible forms of collaboration with Liguria. In the afternoon the program will continue in the county of Gwinnett, with a meeting with the local Chamber of Commerce and with Italian and international companies present on the territory.
The delegation will also host Emory University for a comparison of innovation, entrepreneurship, technologies applied to health, artificial intelligence, research and technology transfer. It is also planned to visit The Hatchery, the incubator of the university.
The final day, Friday 25 September, will be dedicated to the world of business, industry, innovation and tourism. The morning will open with a comparison on the future of logistics, with particular attention to artificial intelligence, automation and new supply chains, to which will take part representatives of the world of logistics, air transport and the Ligurian harbour system.
A session dedicated to innovation and opportunities offered by the economic system in Atlanta, with the participation of companies, representatives of the University of Genoa, FILSE and Italian Institute of Technology. On 25 September there is also a meeting with tour operators, aimed at promoting mutual knowledge and identifying possible opportunities for collaboration on the tourist front.
