MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Eni has set a maximum limit to the price of fuels marketed by Enilive equal to 2.19 euros/liter for oil and to 1.99 for gasoline (about 17 cents less than the current average levels). The price cap is related to the tax burden on the excise in force and will be applied from 28 September, for an initial duration of 30 days, with possibility of extension until the end of the year according to the market trend and supply.
Eni – we read in a note – intends to make a new contribution of solidarity to the country, to consumers and to its customers, which joins the initiatives already undertaken by the company since last March through a reversal only partially of the increase of international quotations on the prices recommended to its distributors, thus absorbing a significant part.
Eni – continues the note – is also involved in the management of biorefineries realized in Venice and Gela, as well as in the development and transformation of Livorno and in other sites on the national territory, safeguarding employment and the environment, investing significant capital in the territory and preserving capacity for refinement (more in sustainable products) that would otherwise have failed to the market.

The Government “thanks Eni for the important initiative to put a maximum roof at the price of gasoline and diesel. A praiseworthy act of attention to Italy, which goes in the hoped direction to calm down the dear fuel that, because of the difficult international context, is hitting the Italian families”.
