Milan, renews its commitment alongside the design companies and the home system with the meeting: “Design and Made in Italy. Intesa Sanpaolo’s support for the Italian company and the creative vision on the global scene”, held at the Gallerie d’Italia in Intesa Sanpaolo in Milan. The initiative is part of the support path that the Bank has been carrying out for years for the design sector and more generally for Made in Italy, a supply chain composed of thousands of SMEs representing a productive and creative excellence internationally recognized. The collaboration with Salone del Mobile. Milan, launched in 2017, is a concrete tool to support the enterprises of the design chain and the home system. A commitment that sees Intesa Sanpaolo also active through the Filiere Development Programme, which today involves more than 240 subsidiaries of Made in Italy, more than 32,000 employees and almost 7,700 suppliers, for a turnover that exceeds 32 billion euros in the furnishing, clothing, food and automation sectors. The programme launched by the Group for ten years has been extended to all Italian production sectors and over time has allowed SMEs to strengthen access to credit and to support investments in innovation, digitization, sustainability and circular economy more effectively, while at the same time accompanying them in growth and development paths on international markets. Since 2020 Intesa Sanpaolo, through the activity of the Banca dei Territori Division led by Stefano Barrese, has supported the SMEs of Made in Italy with loans for 26 billion euros destined to internationalization, export and dimensional growth, confirming its role as a strategic partner for the development of the Italian industry. The appointment at the Gallerie d’Italia of Intesa Sanpaolo was the occasion to retrace the economic and cultural value of Italian design through the interventions of the representatives of the Bank engaged in cultural promotion and in support of the development of enterprises, together with designers and testimonies of world excellence such as Kartell. During the meeting, the Research Department of Intesa Sanpaolo was also offered an update on the macroeconomic scenario, which is uncertain and complex, even in the light of recent international geopolitical tensions, with possible effects both on the international front and on consumption. In this context, expansion on foreign markets remains a priority for furniture and design companies Made in Italy, making it necessary to further strengthen the diversification of commercial outlets. This growth path will be able to count on the quality excellence of national productions, rooted in skills and manufacturing know-how, combined with the strength of the design world where Italy, with 6.2 billion euros of turnover, is leader at European level. The present meeting was also an opportunity to present the re-edition of the volume “The factories of design”, published by Allemandi publishing house with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and Salone del Mobile. The book, considered a classic of publishing industry, offers a reconstruction of the industrial and cultural roots of Italian design and contributes to the reflection on the value of the creative vision of the Italian company by the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
