On 20 May the Sala del Tempio di Vibia Sabina e Adriano, seat of the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, from 9 to 18, will host the Forum Cultura Roma Centro – Archivi, Biblioteche, Musei, Schools. The initiative will bring together museums, archives, libraries, schools, foundations and international guests of the City Hall I of Rome to open a reflection on the cultural future of the capital and the need for a more integrated governance among the different cultural districts of the territory. At the centre of the discussion there will be themes such as urban management, the use of public space, the relationship with civic communities and the role of culture as a collective infrastructure.
Among the main moments of the day is the signing of the first Protocol of Cultural Cooperation between major urban historical centers, signed by Rome City Hall I and Manhattan. The agreement aims to open an international network of collaboration between cultural capital, with the aim of sharing models and practices related to urban governance and cultural policies.
The understanding arises from the idea that neighborhoods and districts with a strong historical, museum and institutional density face similar challenges: from the balance between tourism and daily life to the protection of heritage, to the construction of public spaces accessible and participated.
The Forum is an opportunity to imagine a stable form of cooperation between cities that share a symbolic and cultural centrality on a global scale.
Registration is required through Eventbrite.
