VENICE (ITALPRESS) – “A boy admitted to the hospital or forced home by a serious illness should not have to choose between care and continue to study. This ban exists to remove that choice: to give schools the necessary technological tools so that the connection between the class and the pupil that cannot be physically there is no break. It is a right that the Veneto Region guarantees for the fourth consecutive year”. Valeria Mantovan, Regional Councillor for Education and Training, said this. The Regional Council of Veneto approved the call for the school year 2026/2027 for state schools, peers and vocational training for the purchase of technological tools for pupils who cannot attend school regularly because they are hospitalized or subjected to domicile therapies for serious diseases.
The measure gives effect to Article 5 of Regional Law no. 3 of 14 March 2023, which commits the Region to finance annually contributions aimed at ensuring the right to study to sick pupils. Each school can receive a contribution of 1,000 euros for the purchase of digital devices and tools for distance learning. The total resources allocated amounted to 30,000 euros.
