Protocol of legality between Viminale and Confartigianato to strengthen anti-mafia prevention

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and the President of Confartigianato Imprese Marco Granelli signed to Viminale a protocol of legality, with the aim of consolidating cooperation to prevent increasingly effective attempts to infiltration of organized crime in the entrepreneurial fabric. The agreement, in line with the forecasts of the Antimafia code that allows agreements with associations to extend on a voluntary basis the checks also to the contractual relationships between private individuals, was born to protect the freedom of enterprise from attempts to conditioning mafia, to guarantee the legal economy and the competition in the market. Thanks to the protocol, the territorial offices of Confartigianato Imprese – the main Italian organization of representation of the handicrafts and the micro, small and medium enterprise – can ask through the prefectures to have access through the National Bank unique to anti-mafia communications related to suppliers. The same organization will promote membership of the protocol by the associates and will promote initiatives of formation and deepening focused on the culture of legality.

“The understanding signed today, in addition to witnessing the concrete presence of the State alongside fundamental productive realities for our economy in preventing with appropriate tools the possible attempts of criminal infiltration in their activities, wants to start a virtuous circuit between public and private aimed at strengthening the competitive and development capacity, in the awareness that the network defeats the mafias,” said Minister Piantedosi. “The artisans and small enterprises – said Confartigianato Marco Granelli – are a social and economic presidium in the territories and must be able to operate in a transparent context, protected by every attempt of criminal infiltration. With this Protocol we provide concrete tools to protect the work of entrepreneurs, support fair competition and promote a healthy and responsible economy. It is a commitment that we assume with determination, aware that legality is a value, but also an indispensable condition for development.”.
