Presented to the House the Foundation Archivi Legali Amedeo Modigliani

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – More than 6,000 pieces of documents, historical photographs, manuscripts, publications, sketches, objects and testimonies collected through decades of research. It is the heritage from which the activity of the Foundation Archivi Legali Amedeo Modigliani, created in 2026 to guard, study and make accessible the documentation dedicated to the life and work of the Livorno artist. The Foundation was presented in the Sala del Refettorio – Biblioteca della Camera. “The Foundation is an important, extraordinary step, which not only puts together 6,000 written works: it is a fundamental collection that opens a historical path of rereading what was Amedeo Modigliani. In presenting it to the House, in the place where the most important documents are kept, it is proof of how much a scribe must be in Rome, because Amedeo Modigliani wanted it to be in Rome”, said Giorgio Mulè, deputy of Fi and vice president of the House. “This operation basically brings together the two associations born in the 1980s and founded by Modigliani’s daughter. We have built an Ets foundation, therefore of the third sector, precisely to create a more organized structure, with a scientific committee, with a management board, with a legal advice, therefore a structure that is able to support such an important operation that is accessible to all”, added Marco Quadrelli, president of the Foundation Legal Archives Amedeo Modigliani.

On the occasion of the presentation will be exhibited some personal objects belonging to Amedeo Modigliani and some of his works, now kept inside the Amedeo Modigliani Legal Archives. The Foundation, created thanks to the contribution of the company Geko Gold Holding, was born with the aim of giving an institutional structure and a new perspective of development to the heritage and research of the Archives. Among the objectives are the cataloguing and digitization of materials, historical-artistic and scientific research and the support for updating the catalogue, to make sources accessible to scholars, researchers, collectors and enthusiasts. The goal is to relate archives, research and training, transforming the documentary heritage into a dynamic and open knowledge and development tool.
