ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We do not win by limiting the coalition of centre-left to Pd, 5 Stars and Avs.” Enzo Maraio, secretary of Avanti Psi, for the centre-left and asks for an offer “plural” based on modernity, action of government and reformism. “We need to complete a coalition that has a strong push to give credibility to a project that in pluralism can really compete against Giorgia Meloni and the central government,” he explains in an interview with Italpress.
According to Maraio, the area to be built must put together “the Catholic area, the liberal area and the cyvism”, starting from common values such as Europeanism and reformism. The socialist secretary cites dialogue with some partners and the presence of Matteo Renzi, to whom, he recalls, “we had already recognized the leadership of this area” on the occasion of Europeans. Today, however, “you must not pursue individualisms or personalisms. Leadership – emphasizes – is not attributed because it has an exemption from signature collection. It is given by the ability to interpret the needs of people, to put them in the program and in a political project, which is what we want to build”. The goal, he adds, is to build an area “at equal dignity”, without attachments or co-options.
On the obligation to collect 6,000 signatures per college for parties not present in Parliament, provided for by the reform of the electoral law, the Chamber for the third reading, the judgment is net: “The electoral laws do not change a few months from voting and do not change by chasing polls,” he says. The norm risks making the participation of non-parliamentary forces “disorderable, almost impossible”. “We are not afraid to collect signatures, we are ready to do so but according to canons that favour democracy and participation.”.
Maraio mentions the case of Molise, where the number of signatures required would be higher than that of the votes necessary to overcome the disembarkation: “A real madness,” he added, “we asked President Mattarella to evaluate the profiles he considers unconstitutional of the law, trusting in his role as a guarantor.”.
The solution to abstentionism, for Maraio, passes from the ability of politics to “talk to people on the territory”. The secretary then claims the rooting of Avanti Psi, underlining that the polls attribute to the party percentages which, in his opinion, do not photograph the real territorial presence.
“For example, in Campania we took 6%,” he recalls. Finally, the Vannacci phenomenon. Maraio argues that the Euro MP “did with political grammar” and that his issues point “to the belly” of voters, intercepting discontent without proposing a vision of government and identifying “an enemy every day”. For the socialist leader, Vannacci represents “a problem for our country” and the left must oppose it by returning to talk about programs, security, rights and duties. “We will give a hand to contain Vannacci and this degeneration”, concludes Maraio, according to which the centre-left must offer “one’s own idea of development”, also through “an industrial plan and a different strategy for the Mezzogiorno”.
