In the morning of November 23, 2025, at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the National Carabinieri Association – Section of Queens and the Office of the Military Councillor of the Italian Military Representation at the United Nations celebrated, with a solemn Mass, the Virgo Fidelis on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of his proclamation as protector of the Carabinieri’s Rule.
They attended the religious function, concelebrated by Father Formica, the parish priest, Father Jose Ortega and Father Carmelo Gagliardi, the Military Councillor of the Permanent Representation of Italy at the United Nations, General of Alfonso Manzo Division, the Vice Consul of New York, Laura Perino, and the President of the National Carabinieri Association of New York, Antonio Ferri. There were also various combat associations and a large Italian-American community.
At the end of the celebration, General Alfonso Manzo, after reading the greeting message of the General Commander of the Carabinieri, General of Corps of Armata Salvatore Luongo, directed to President Ferri, underlined the role of the Carabinieri who, at home and abroad, have known over the years to show their loyalty to the oath given up to the extreme sacrifice. The Gen. Manzo also recalled Culquaber (1941) and the 77th Day of the Orphan organized by the National Opera of Asdistenza to the Ordani of the Carabinieri.
Following this, the Vice Consul General in New York, Laura Perino, thanked the work of the members of the Carabinieri, emphasising the role, not less important, of support of the relative families.
The celebration ended with the blessing of Father Formica, and with the wish to see each other together, for the same occasion, next year.
