Mimit Insurance Table, Urso alla filiera “Continuing comparison on car RC”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The good functioning and regulation of the insurance market, the trends in the sector, the policies of contrast to insurance fraud and the elusion of the obligation Rc Auto have been at the center of the Insurance Table chaired by the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, sen. Adolfo Urso. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Istituto per la Vigilanza sulle Assicurazioni (IVASS), the National Association of Insurance Companies (ANIA), Unipol and the Guarantor for price surveillance. During the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of the car market and the development of insurance premiums. “The Government closely monitors the performance of Rc cars and the impact they have on families and businesses. It is necessary to continue the comparison with all the actors in the field to identify solutions that, in compliance with the rules of the market and the freedom of the insurance companies in the definition of the tariffs, favor a greater equity and transparency in order to provide tangible rewards to the virtuous insurances even though resident in the territories with high incidentality,” said Minister Urso.

In this regard, during the meeting, some reports received at Mimit were recalled regarding the increase in car Rc tariffs and the persistent territorial differences in the costs of policies, with particular reference to the regions of the Mezzogiorno. “The parties present at the table shared the awareness that, in the current regulatory framework, the determination of rates falls within the autonomy of insurance companies operating under free competition – explains Mimit in a note –. At the same time, at the end of the meeting, the opportunity emerged to start technical meetings aimed at the realization of instruments – both administrative, legislative and communication – aimed at studying the different methods of calculation of the prizes and to analyze the current territorial aggregations in the system of direct compensation, with the aim of encouraging a more equitable mutuality in the auto Rc sector and to enhance the virtuous behaviour of the insured. The Table finally confirmed its commitment to continue the comparison between institutions, supervisory authorities and operators in the sector to monitor the evolution of the insurance market and to identify measures to strengthen its efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability for insured persons and consumers.”.
