Meloni signed the last six cohesion agreements with the Ministries, activated 1.7 billion euros

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council Giorgia Meloni has signed, on proposal from the Minister for European Affairs, the PNRR and the Policies of Cohesion Tommaso Foti, the last 6 Agreements for Cohesion with the Ministries. The total amount of investments activated is approximately 1.7 billion euros. The Agreements signed today are added to the 21 Agreements with the autonomous Regions and Provinces and to the first 7 Agreements reached with the Ministries in October 2025. “Cohesion policies are one of the strategic ties of government action. Today we complete the path started at the beginning of this legislature, closing 34 Agreements that total worth over 50 billion euros. Extremely valuable resources, which finance strategic interventions to reduce territorial differences and make Italy stronger, cohesive and competitive”, said the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni.

“Today, 1.7 billion euros are being implemented in projects for our young people in the field of education, to relaunch tourism as a strategic factor of growth, to strengthen our health system, to increase the safety of our cities, to promote research oriented to new technologies and to make our territories more resilient than the calamitous events,” Minister Foti added. Specifically, the new 6 Agreements signed concern: The Ministry of Education and Merit, which will have at disposal 360 million euros of the FSC, for interventions aimed at improving the safety conditions of the school buildings through works of fire adjustment, asbestos reclamation and standardization of the systems and spaces for the educational activities, laboratories, sports and recreational/recreative.

The Ministry of Tourism, to which 121,14 million euros will go, in order to contribute to the development of the tourist sector, through projects of innovation for the development of competitiveness in tourism, investments to improve the quality of the destinations, as well as interventions to support the enterprises in order to increase the quality and innovation of the tourist services; the Ministry of Health, which benefits of 90 million FSC, with interventions that focus on the potenziamento of the socio-power structures for minors and young adults Within the framework of the Agreement, interventions are identified in the field of digitization, energy and urban redevelopment, such as the implementation of the Disaster Recovery (DR) of Interforze databases, the strengthening of video surveillance systems in strategic and urban areas, the digitization of processes and dematerialization of the archives of the State Police and the raising of security levels and resilience of the IT systems of the State Police.

The Ministry of University and Research, which receives 381.18 million euros, of which 306,76 million FSC resources and 74,41 million Rotating Fund. These resources are intended for the strengthening of Research Infrastructures (IR) and of the human capital with high technical-scientific specialization, as well as applied research and technological transfer projects with priority attention to quantum technologies, high performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence; the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies, with a total of 470 million FSC resources, to which 28.1 million total cofinancing are added. The resources are intended for interventions of reduction of the hydrogeological risk, of strengthening the National Service of Civil Protection (SNPC), of mitigation of the alluvial risk and of development, requalification and modernization of harbours, landings and marine villages.
