Mattarella recalls the massacre of Dacca “Italy reaffirms commitment against terrorism”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “ Ten years after the terrorist attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Dacca I renew the most felt expressions of mourning and closeness to the families of the victims. That vile act of barbaric violence took away life from women and men of different nationalities and religious beliefs, affected while sharing a place of coexistence and friendship, as far away from a small manifestation of intolerance.” The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella says so.

“The terrorists wanted to sow hatred, to fuel contrast between the Bangladeshi population and the international community. On the other hand, solidarity and awareness of the value of dialogue between peoples and the common commitment against violence has been strengthened – he adds. In the moving memory of the victims, nine Italians, together with citizens from Banglades, Japanese, Indian and U.S., Italy resolutely reaffirms the commitment to the counter-terrorism of each matrix, in agreement with the activities promoted by the international community. The affirmation of the principles of civilization demands rigor in contrast to the terrorist threat, in order to build safe, open and solidarity societies.”.
