AMSTERDAM (PAESI BASSI) (ITALPRESS) – KNDS Deutschland (KNDS) and Leonardo will develop a semotive artillery system together. To this end, Florian Hohenwarter, next CEO of KNDS Deutschland, and Roberto Cingolani, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo, signed a Letter of Understanding at the headquarters of KNDS Deutschland in Amesterdam. The new artillery system will be based on KNDS’ Artillery Gun Module and an advanced version of Leonardo’s rotated platform.
The two companies intend to step up industrial collaboration in order to improve supply chain resilience and time to market. Partners will offer their joint solution in response to a future program of the Italian Army. “The combination of electronics, C5I (Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Collaboration and Intelligence), defense technologies in the field of UAV systems in the state of the art of Leonardo and the most advanced artillery solutions of KNDS will significantly contribute to increasing the fighting capacity and effectiveness of the system,” reads in a note.
