Italy joins Pax Silica

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Italy today joined the Pax Silica, an international strategic initiative promoted by the United States that brings together over twenty countries and the European Union to strengthen cooperation on strategic technologies of the era of artificial intelligence.

The Farnesina, underlined that membership confirms the centrality of the transatlantic partnership to promote economic security, innovation and competitiveness, through reliable and resilient chains, in a context of increasing strategic competition.

On the indication of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the Italian accession was formalized in Brindisi by the Special Envoy for Innovation and New Technologies, Ambassador Armando Varricchio, who signed with the US Ambassador in Italy, Tilman Fertitta.

Italian participation – says Farnesina again – reaffirms the belief that technological innovation, economic security and national security are increasingly connected. From semiconductors to critical minerals, from digital infrastructure to high-tech systems, Pax Silica strengthens cooperation between countries that share common strategic interests and standards. The initiative will offer new opportunities for growth and internationalisation for Italian companies in the sectors aimed at shaping the economy of the future.
