As part of the Salone Off of the International Book Fair in Turin, the initiative “Ipse Scripsit!”, promoted by the Aladei Association in collaboration with Lions Club and cultural and institutional realities of the territory, will animate the Martinetti Congress Centre in Castellamonte from 8 to 10 May 2026 with a rich program of meetings dedicated to bullying, cyberbullying, gender violence and contemporary publishing.
The aim of the exhibition is to create a public space for reflection and confrontation, able to involve experts, institutions, schools and citizens around the central themes of contemporaneity, with particular attention to the new generations.
Among the most significant moments of the event is the intervention of Yuleisy Cruz Lezcano, poet, writer, translator and activist engaged for years on human rights, equal opportunities and the prevention of violence in affective relationships.
The author of the book “Other voice will be fear” (Leonida Edizioni), a poetic work finalist at the literary prize journalist Nadia Toffa and presented in numerous national and international contexts, Cruz Lezcano proposes an innovative narrative of gender violence through the poetic form, giving voice to the real stories of women who have lived experiences of abuse and suffering.
In his speech on the 9th of May dedicated to “Let’s give NO to violence on women”, the author will bring his experience of research and testimony, underlining the role of literature as an instrument of awareness, prevention and social transformation. His reflection focuses on the need to promote new relational models based on respect, listening and emotional balance.
The distinctive element of his work is the cultural and educational project that Cruz Lezcano carries out throughout Italy, through presentations of the book, public meetings, conferences and participatory workshops. In these paths, poetry becomes a device of dialogue and care, able to activate communities and generate collective awareness.
Particularly relevant is the use of the Caviardage technique, a methodology that allows to bring out hidden words and meanings within the texts, transforming it into a laboratory tool to explore emotions, lived and inner processes. Through this practice, the author promotes experiences of emotional and participatory writing, aimed at students, teachers and citizens.
The project of Cruz Lezcano is part of a wide cultural dissemination path already presented in institutional, school and cultural contexts throughout Italy and abroad, confirming the centrality of poetry as a civil language and an instrument of prevention of violence.
His presence at “Ipse Scripsit!” is a moment of particular value, in which the artistic dimension is intertwined with that educational and social, contributing to strengthen the message of the festival: culture as an active tool of change.
The event will end on Sunday, May 10 with a focus dedicated to publishing and dialogue between authors, publishers and public, confirming Castellamonte as a point of reference for cultural reflection on contemporary themes.
