ROMA (ITALPRESS) – According to the preliminary estimates Istat, in March the national index of consumer prices for the entire community (NIC), to the gross of tobacco, recorded a variation of +0.5% on a monthly basis and of +1.7% on an annual basis (from +1.5% in the previous month). The trend of inflation is mainly affected by the net rise in energy prices – regulated (from -11.6% to -1.3%) and not (from -6,2% to -2,4%) – and the acceleration of those of unworked food (from +3.7% to +4.4%); in slowing are instead the prices of recreational, cultural services and for the care of the person +4.9% to +3.0%), of services relative to the transports (from In March, the underlying inflation, net of fresh energy and food, shows a slowdown (from +2.4% to +1.9%), as well as that net of only energy goods (from +2.5% to +2.1%).
In March the prices of goods recorded a significant annual acceleration (from -0.1 to +0.7%), while the prices of services decrease their growth rate (from +3.6% to +2.8%). The differential between the service sector and that of goods, therefore, decreases, passing from +3.8 percentage points to +2.1 p.p… The rate of tendential variation of the prices of food, for the care of the house and the person evidences a moderate acceleration (from +2.0% to +2.2%). The change in the general index mainly affected the increase in energy prices, regulated (+8.9%) and not (+4.6%), transport services (+0.7%) and unworked food (+0.4%). The effects of these increases were only partly offset by the decrease in the prices of recreational, cultural and personal care services (-1.2%). According to preliminary estimates, the harmonised consumer price index (IPCA) shows a change of +1.6% on a monthly basis, for the end of seasonal balances of which the NIC does not take into account, and to +1.5% on an annual basis (table compared to the previous month).
