In October 2025 stable the used car market

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – After 4 months of growth, the car market used in October marks a substantial stability: with 542,722 transfers of ownership (data pending consolidation that will lead to a slight positive change), the month marks a result in line with 545,450 October 2024 (-4.6% on 2019).

Net transfers drop 1.5%, while minivoltures mark a +0.8%. In the first 10 months the growth is 3.2% with 4.643.667 transfers (in line with 2019). Among the motorizations the gasoline engine, with a share of 39.3% (-0.1 percentage points) keeps the 1° place also in October (38.6% in 10 months).

The diesel, lost its historic leadership, remains in 2nd position and continues to reduce its weight to 39.2% (-3.9 percentage points and 41.6% in cumulated). Hybrids confirm a sustained growth, touching 11.2% in October and 10.1% in January-October; follow Gpl and methane respectively to 5.5% and 2.1% in the month (5.3% and 2.1% in the pile); BEV and plug-ins rise to 1.3% and 1.5% in October (1.1% and 1.3% in 10 months).

In October, transfers by contractor confirm the previous months: exchanges between private/businesses, which remain largely predominant, earn 0.2 points and account for 56.2% of all property passes (56.4% in 10 months). At the same time, 0.8 points are lost from those from operator to final customer, to 38.5% in the month and 39.0% in the cumulation. Exchanges from auto-immatricolazioni (4.4% in October and 3.8% in the cumulation), while they earn 0.2 points and are still marginal, those from the rental (1.0% overall in the month and 0.9% in the 10 months).
