In Molfetta postponed to 20 September the return to the Basilica of Our Lady of Martyrs, flies to Hoboken

The Patronal Feste Committee of Molfetta, in accordance with the Episcopal Curia and the Basilica Madonna dei Martiri, announces that the return of the sacred effigy of the Madonna dei Martiri will take place on Sunday, September 20, and not on the 13th as originally planned.

The variation arises from the important pastoral visit of H.E. Mons. Domenico Basile to Hoboken, where the Molfettese community of America is preparing to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Hoboken Italian Festival the Feast of Madonna dei Martiri, an event that marks a century of Italian history, faith and traditions in North America.

A century of devotion that unites two worlds

North America is growing. The great community of the Molfettesi emigrants, the Society Madonna dei Martiri in Hoboken, is in ferment for an event that is not only a feast, but an act of love towards its roots.

After ten years, the Bishop of the Diocese of Molfetta will return to the United States to live together with the emigrants a moment that many define “epoch”: 100 years of faith brought overseas, guarded, handed down, celebrated.

His presence will be a symbolic embrace between Molfetta and Hoboken, among those who remained and who left, between the land of origin and the one who welcomed generations of molfettesi.

“Even this year our contribution will not fail” – says Roberto Pansini, president of the Association Oll Muvi – I Love Molfetta, for years a reference point for the molfettesi communities spread around the world.
