ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Tax refund records in 2025. The amounts recognised this year by the Revenue Agency to families and enterprises amounted to almost 26.3 billion, with a leap forward of more than 2 billion compared to 2024, when the sums refunded stood at 24,2 billion (+8.5%). It is the best result ever. I also note for the number of payments, which exceeds 4.1 million, making a growth of more than 5% last year (3.9 million payments). Refunds are raised to households and enterprises – Of the 26.3 billion euros of total tax refunds paid in 2025 (data at 24.12.25), almost 5.3 billion are direct tax refunds: about 3.5 billion Irpef returned to the availability of households and 1.8 billion Ires returned to businesses. More in detail, of the 3.5 billion accredited to physical persons, 1.8 billion were paid directly by the Revenue Agency to almost 2.4 million citizens who submitted the 730 model by the end of September without indicating a employer to receive accreditation in pay envelope. Iva (businesses, artisans and professionals) have been recognised as reimbursement of the Value Added Tax for more than 20.8 billion. Restitutions to the community also 169 million related to other taxes (register, government concessions, direct taxes deriving from Irap deductibility). More note for the number of payments – If instead of the amounts you consider the number of payments made, there are more than 4.1 million requests for reimbursement positively closed by the Agency this year: Irpef refunds were little less than 4 million (about 96% of total) and 102 thousand VAT refunds.
