ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The monthly report on the monitoring and alert system is available on the website of the Ministry of Health in relation to the heat waves and the surveillance of daily mortality and accesses in the ER for the period 1-31 July 2026.
Also the month of July, as June, was the second hottest ever, according to the data collected by the Department of Epidemiology of the Regional Health Service of Lazio (DEP) for the Ministry of Health. “With high temperatures, the health impact in Italy has been contained,” explains the dicastery. In conjunction with the July heat waves, there are no significant variations in the flow of accesses in the ER, if there are no slight increases in Venice, Rome, Reggio Calabria and Palermo. The assessment of mortality by age classes shows an excess only in the older age class (from 85 years up), equal to +8% (+9% among the northern cities and +7% among the cities of the center-south), while for the younger age classes (64-74, 75-84 years) mortality, was lower than expected.
