Generali launches Excellence Academy to strengthen the strategic transformation of the group

TRIESTE (ITALPRESS) – The Generali Excellence Academy was presented today at Palazzo Berlam in Trieste, which aims to strengthen continuous training and upskilling for the long-term growth of the Group. Within the strategic plan, the Academy intends to introduce a new integrated learning model, with the aim of equipping employees, at all levels and in all 50 countries where Generali is present, with basic skills and skills to address the continuous changes that the world of work, and not only, proposes.

“The forces that led us to this investment are three – explained the president of Generali, Andrea Sironi -. Artificial intelligence serves the ability to interpret the results and risks that this tool entails. The fragmentation, geopolitical but also regulatory: we want to form people able to connect elements of diversity, in a Group like ours going from China to South America, with common paths capable of creating uniformity. The acceleration in the change of skills: knowledge changes quickly and it is necessary to keep pace”.

Sironi underlined how the Academy points to the “growth of people on the technical, cultural and customer management level. The world is changing and knowledge becomes soon obsolete. In this context, training becomes basic: for Generali, learning is a strategic capacity and a tool for attracting young people capable.”.

Sarah Toms, Chief Innovation Officer at the International Institute for Management Development, noted that “learning today is more fundamental than ever. Increasing automation leads to a high level of knowledge work. Recent researches confirm that the so-called ‘heavy learners’ are more aware, less stressed and more satisfied at work, as well as having a competitive advantage.”.

Monica Possa, Group Chief People & Organization Officer of Generali, explained how the origin of the Academy was born from the fact that “we want to have people as capable as possible. We have focused the human factor, with the aim of changing the way to interact within and with customers, inserting training in the projects of our strategic plan. An ambitious vision that our people deserve and that aims to build a competitive advantage for the Generals of the Future.”.

The Group Head of Academy, Alberta Zamolo, outlined how Generali’s training project will work: “We intend to put together the best pratices in the world to make them available to the entire Group. We have already started some schools and courses of excellence on the technical front – functional, others will also open on other issues, such as artificial intelligence and customer relationship. We will make events and games to ensure that part of fun, fundamental in training, and encourage the desire to learn”.
