ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Italy’s GDP in December increased by 0.6 percent in 2025 and 2026, 0.8 in 2027 and 0.9 percent in 2028. The Bank of Italy makes known, recalling that the methodology used (shared at Eurosystem level) processes estimates on seasonally adjusted data for the number of working days; Without this correction, GDP would grow by 0.5 percent in 2025, 0.7 in 2026, 0.8 in 2027 and 0.7 in 2028.

Consumption inflation is 1.7 percent on average in 2025, 1.4 in 2026, 1.6 percent in 2027 and 1.9 in 2028. The increase in inflation in 2028 reflects the effects of the entry into force of the system of exchange of quotas for pollutants and greenhouse gases in the European Union (EU Emission Trading System 2, ETS2), which results in a temporary increase in energy price dynamics.

Net of energy and food, inflation is 1.9% on average in the current year, down to 1.6 percent in the next year and stabilizes on this value in the next two years.
