FIRENZE (ITALPRESS) – “I believe that it is possible and also just to intervene in order to keep out of the Stability Pact the expenses related to the events of Hormuz, therefore the expenses for energy, but it must be a measure in time”. This was said by the Vice-Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, in the margin of the Italian-American Economic Forum in Prato.
“I am absolutely against the hypothesis of unilaterally leaving the Stability Pact – added Tajani –, in these moments it serves more Europe and not less Europe. We need more courageous initiatives, and that of State aid proposed by the European Commission is a proposal that is likely to increase unfair competition, to increase disparities since there is still no fiscal harmonization, so I do not think it is an optimal solution. One could think, if Europe wants to make a courageous choice, to another Pnrr like that of Covid to allow all Europe to be able to overcome this complicated moment.”.
“There are 400 billion Mes, I don’t see why they have to stay there frozen. Instead of increasing public debt you could use that money for public debt, if we increase public debt we put another burden on the shoulders of the Italians,” said Tajani.
