Dear Energy, NAC “From the beginning of the conflict in Iran additional account from 16,5 billion”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Since the beginning of the conflict in Iran, dear energy has imposed on Italian families and enterprises a greater esbortion estimated at approximately € 16,5 billion compared to the average prices of February. This is what emerges from the update of the NAC to 30 September indicating that almost half of the aggravation comes from the fuels. The higher cost of petrol and diesel is estimated between 7.4 and 7.6 billion euros. Electricity follows, with 5.8-6 billion, and gas directly consumed by households and enterprises, with 3-3.3 billion. The only month of September produced an additional account between €4.6 and €5.2 billion, about a third of the entire aggravio accumulated from the beginning of March. In the first fifteen days the increase had been estimated between 2.2 and 2.5 billion; in the second half of the month there were additional 2.4-2.7 billion. To push the account were mainly carburetors. Gasoline reached the highest values in September from March 2022. Gasoline exceeded the previous peak of the energy crisis of 2022, establishing a new nominal historical maximum in the weekly series available since 1996.

On 21 September the weekly average of the gasoline had risen to 2,141 euros per liter, while the diesel oil reached 2,351 euros per liter in the survey of 28 September. Values that have directly affected the costs of enterprises and, in particular, the activities that use daily vans and working vehicles. The expensive fuels have significant differences in the territory. In the MIMIT survey of 30 September the Autonomous Province of Bolzano recorded the highest prices for gasoline, with 2,147 euros per liter, and for diesel, with 2,360 euros. Considering the only regions, for gasoline the highest average is recorded in Calabria, with 2,135 euros per litre, followed by Sicily, with 2,132 euros, and Basilicata, with 2,128 euros. On levels above the national average there are also Campania and Sardinia, respectively 2,124 and 2,122 euros. For oil, in the first place between the regions are Sicily and Aosta Valley, both with 2,342 euros per liter. They follow Calabria and Sardinia, with 2,339 euros, and Lombardy, with 2,327 euros.

Also on the electric market the tensions remain very strong. The average PUN Index GME of September is located, provisionally, around 208 euros per megawattora, against 114,41 euros of February: an increase of almost 82%. If the calmed prices of petrol and diesel will be extended until the end of the year and the quotations of electricity and gas will remain on the average levels of September, the greater energy account supported by families and enterprises could reach approximately 33 billion euros at the end of 2026. The fourth quarter alone is likely to add more than 16 billion to the 16,5 already accumulated since March. Fuel containment could produce savings of between 400 million and over a billion euros, depending on the duration and extent of the measurement. A significant benefit, but not enough to neutralize an energy pressure that, with the arrival of the cold season, risks moving more and more on electricity and gas bills.

“Dear energy is subtracting billions of household consumption and business investment – says the national president of the NAC, Dario Costantini –. For small companies, these higher costs reduce margins, stop innovation and employment and move inevitably along the production chains. Every van has become a travel bill.” “The interventions adopted have contributed to curb prices in the last days of the month – continues Constantine – but cannot replace a structural strategy. We call for greater transparency in price formation, measures accessible to micro and small enterprises and the use of the possible increased tax revenue produced by waste to lighten the cost of energy”.
