ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The summer campaign of digital education “CyberSummer”, promoted by the State Police, is enriched with an important novelty. The initiative, created to raise awareness among young people on the risks of net navigation during the summer, was in fact extended, not only to children admitted in the pediatric departments of the hospitals but, for the first time, expanded to reach even the elderly and fragile.
In continuity with the daily commitment of the State Police in promoting a cybersecurity culture, the “CyberSummer” campaign passes through the doors of the hospitals. During the visits to the paediatric departments, the Postal Police operators met the young degents to talk about the conscious use of the internet, distributing informative brochures and gadgets, to ensure that digital education does not stop even in situations of fragility.
With this initiative, the State Police also intends to reach the children who, for health reasons, cannot participate in summer activities. At the same time, in the 2026 edition of “CyberSummer”, attention was also extended to older people. This year’s main novelty is the expansion of the target to a population group particularly exposed to the risk of scams and rays.
In addition to information materials traditionally intended for young people, specific brochures have been prepared on the prevention of computer scams, dedicated to over 65 and the most fragile people.
This initiative is part of the wider commitment of the State Police for Security Protection: through information and dialogue, the State Police protects citizens by providing the information and tools necessary to defend themselves against fraud. Thanks to the network of Cyber Security Operations Centres across the national territory, the campaign will continue throughout the summer, bringing its educational action to hospitals, summer centers, parishes and aggregation sites, confirming the value of the proximity of the State Police to citizens.
After the Policlinico Tor Vergata and the San Giovanni Addolarata in the coming days the operators have scheduled visits to other nosocomi.
