Last Friday the press conference of presentation of the Business Care International Award 2026 was held at the Chamber of Deputies. A well-established event that celebrates personalities, institutions and organizations that stand out for ethics, innovation, culture and good business, with the aim of enhancing those who contribute concretely to the improvement of society and the international reputation of Italy.
Mr Christian Di Sanzo, who stressed the strategic value of the award in linking Italy and the United States. “It is a prize that links Italy with the United States and gives the idea of those Italians abroad and Italians in the world really seek, with their work, with their strength, with their desire to do, to bear the name of Italy, our culture and our products all over the world”, explained to the microphones of New York. A commitment that, he added, “makes us proud because it becomes an important way for Italy to exercise its soft power in the world”.
The president of the award Massimo Veccia retraced the growth of the Business Care International Award, born before the pandemic and able in a few years to assert itself as an important international event. «It is a prize that has become very important in only seven years. We started before Covid and now exponentially this award has grown, will be here and in New York in a really surprising way». Veccia has highlighted to our microphones how the new edition represents a phase of further development: “With the new jury and the new board we have new participants, new ideas, new triggers and new designs to put in place together. This is the beautiful thing.” Also confirmed the institutional dimension of ceremonies: «The presentations will always be held in Rome and New York, here in Montecitorio and New York at the Consulate General of Italy, and probably also in Piazza Italia, a New York hub very important for the cultural and business exchanges between Italy and the United States».
Among the main innovations of the 2026 edition, the introduction of the “Le Icone del Made in Italy that illumine the World” section, designed to enhance brands, productive realities and talents that contribute authentically to the international reputation of the country, also as a response to the phenomenon of Italian Sounding and changes in the scenario of global trade. The 2026 edition will also award the “Magnificent 10”: seven internationally renowned personalities and three emerging young talents, symbols of Italian excellence in the world.
In this regard, during the event, Fabrizio Raimondi, head of the external relations of the Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano, who brought the example of an icon of Made in Italy in the world: a product symbol of the Italian identity, loved abroad and often perceived as the “house taste” by Italians outside national borders. Raimondi, who was also interviewed at the edge of the event by New York, recalled during the press conference the economic and social impact of the sector, which generates over 50 thousand jobs and a value to consumption greater than 3.2 billion euros, emphasizing the role of Parmigiano Reggiano in supporting the territories, countering the depopulation and creating non-localized wealth.
On the cultural and geopolitical value of the award, the president of jury Fabrizio Ferragni, director Rai focused on our microphones: “At this historical moment, in which the confusion is objective, I think it is also an opportunity to strengthen the historical, cultural, social and political links between Europe and North America, between Italy and the United States”. Ferragni recalled the shared values of the West – “freedom, democracy, pluralism, equality, acceptance” – emphasizing how “you can do business, but a good business, which makes our society and our countries grow”. In an uncertain context, he concluded, the prize can offer “useful indications for all”.
A contribution to the reflection also came from Andrea Vento, a member of the board of the award, who framed the initiative in the delicate international economic scenario. “This year there will be awards in Rome and then in New York. It is a special moment if we consider the recent vicissitudes concerning, for example, the duties”. These dynamics, according to Wind, make the role of the prize even more important: “They allow to identify which Italian companies can be at the heart of our attention. The reason I joined the board is to highlight the companies that can be a fundamental transatlantic bridge between Italy and the United States”.
The Business Care International Award will also integrate new projects dedicated to art, music and research, produced directly by Business Care with the support of partners. The official awards ceremonies are scheduled on 19 March 2026 in Rome, the Chamber of Deputies, and on 12 November 2026 in New York, at the General Consulate of Italy, confirming once again the transatlantic vocation of a prize that aims to combine excellence, ethics and international vision.
