ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “When we buy a newspaper in the newsstand we see only the last passage of a much more complex chain. Behind that copy there are publishers, journalists, national and local distributors and a network of sales outlets that has been gradually reduced in recent years. This is why we met in July all the representatives of the sector organizing a table dedicated to the future of the sector. A meeting that has produced an extraordinary intervention with measures that concern the whole chain, including for the first time distributors, a crucial ring of the system that also allows the inhabitants of the very small municipalities, to browse a newspaper and to inquire. Using every resource saved, with the Dpcm just registered by the Court of Auditors, we have taken care of all the actors, from the publishers, with specific contributions, to the newsstands, who will benefit in the complex of 10 million euros with a bonus for those who made deliveries at home and raising to 80% of the measure relative to the expenses allowed, up to the distributors who will receive a contribution equal this year to 1,5 million”. It highlights in a note the undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council with delegation to information and publishing, Alberto Barachini.
“Now Fieg – he continues – announced the call of a table with distributors and newsstands to face the situation increasingly difficult from the contraction of volumes and the increase of transport and management costs.
