Speaking as the actress Elena Sofia Ricci. Prevention activities extend also “on the ground”, for the first time in the RFI station of Cosenza and in the port of call FS Logistix of Sampierdarena, Genoa, alongside the appointment already previewed at the port of call of San Lorenzo in Rome. This year, moreover, RFI will be the protagonist of a special “ignition” of 40 stations, lit in pink on the evenings of 30 September and 1 October, starting from 20:00, to draw attention to the importance of prevention. The station of Cosenza will return to light pink even in the evenings of 19 and 20 October. “Prevention is not only an individual choice, but a collective responsibility involving institutions, professionals and citizens,” said Marcello Gemmato, Undersecretary of Health. “Promoting the culture of prevention means encouraging correct lifestyles and promoting adherence to screening programs, fundamental tools to intercept the disease in its early stages. Our commitment is to ensure that prevention is increasingly effective and accessible, reducing inequalities and guaranteeing all the same health protection opportunities.” Francesca Stacchiotti, Chief People, Culture and Transformation Officer of the FS Group, highlighted how “the FS Group confirms its commitment to promoting a culture of prevention and health, putting its network and trains at the service of people. For sixteen years we have brought this message to the places crossed daily by millions of travelers, with the aim of making information and prevention increasingly accessible and close to communities – he continued. This year, alongside the free consultations on board and the new territorial stages, we wanted to further expand the message through the lighting of 40 RFI stations: a concrete signal that involves the entire railway network and that wants to remind everyone how important it is to take care of their health. For the FS Group, taking care of people also means promoting, within and outside the company, a culture of listening, prevention and well-being, focusing on people and their needs. It is a commitment that also concerns our colleagues and our colleagues, because health and quality of life are an integral part of an attentive, inclusive and able to generate value. FrecciaRosa is a journey that we make together with institutions, health professionals and associations, with the conviction that prevention is a heritage of all”. Adriana Bonifacino, Founder of the Fondazione IncontraDonna, recalled that “October will also be in 2026 a month entirely dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer and all other major cancer pathologies. Increased promotion of healthy lifestyles and increased consumptionenvironmental awareness is important if we really want to limit the growth of cancer cases. This year we intend to focus on metabolic health and obesity. They are recognized among the main public health challenges of our time and are closely linked to the risk of numerous tumors. The serious excess of weight in Italy is more than 10% of the entire adult population. It is always necessary to reiterate that 40% of all neoplasms are avoidable by intervening on everyday behavior and performing regular examinations and surveillance paths according to indication. For breast cancer early diagnosis is the most effective form of prevention and biennial free mammography is ensured throughout Italy – it has emphasized – . Nevertheless, at the moment only 58% of women regularly submit to an examination able to accurately identify a breast neoplasia. With our project we intend to raise awareness and encourage participation in screening programmes organised by the different regions.” More than 390 thousand new cancer cases are diagnosed in Italy each year, of which about 176 thousand concern women. Among these, more than 70 thousand could be avoided through the adoption of healthy lifestyles and greater adherence to early prevention and diagnosis programs. Particular attention goes to breast cancer, the most frequently diagnosed neoplasia in the female population, which in 2025 affected over 53,000 women. During the entire month of October, from Monday to Friday, travellers who choose to travel with Frecce, Intercity or trains of the Regionale di Trenitalia, on a list of routes available on the website of Trenitalia, will have the possibility to receive a free service of information and medical advice on cancer prevention, thanks to professionals made available by AIOM. This is accompanied by the possibility of booking teleconsulti, an opportunity designed for those who want to receive clarifications and suggestions to be studied later at the structures of the National Health System. Doctors and volunteers of Fondazione IncontraDonna will also be present on trains to distribute the “Vademecum Salute”, written in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, also available in digital format and translated into multiple languages, so as to reach an increasingly broader audience. FrecciaRosa has established itself as an important initiative of social and health value that has received the patronage of the Ministry of Health and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. For the fourth consecutive year, the project also obtained the prestigious Medal of the President of the Republic. -photo press office Fs-(ITALPRESS).
