Avio, new appointments in the Board of Directors and Management

COLLEFERRO (ROMA) (ITALPRESS) – The Board of Directors of Avio S.p.A., which met today, acquired the opinion of the Appointments and Complaints Committee and with the approval of the Board of Statutory Auditors, deliberated the appointment by co-option of Giulia De Martino, as a non-executive and independent director of the Company. The appointment took place as a result of the resignation resigned on 29 July last by Elena Pisonero, non-executive and independent Councillor, as well as Chairman of the Company’s Appointment and Compensation Committee, effectively from the date of the Shareholders’ Meeting of 8 September, as communicated to the market on 29 July. Giulia De Martino has also been appointed member of the Appointment and Compensation Committee of the Society. He will remain in office until the next Shareholders’ Meeting. On the basis of the information available to the company, at present Giulia De Martino does not hold Avio shares.

The Board of Directors also appointed Steven Wood Chairman of the Appointment and Compensation Committee to replace Elena Pisonero. In addition, after the favourable opinion of the Appointment and Compensation Committee, the Board of Directors of Avio also decided to appoint Deputy Director-General Corporate, with effect from today, Roberto Carassai, current Chief Financial Officer and Manager responsible for drafting corporate accounting documents. In addition, the Corporate Deputy Director-General is responsible for the management “Legal, Compliance & Corporate Affairs” as well as the functions “Information & Communication Technology”, “Sales & Procurement Governance” and “General Services”, without prejudice to the functional reports to the Company’s control functions.

Finally, Avio appointed Claudio Milana Head of Programs and Manager with Avio’s Strategic Responsibility, replacing Marco Biagioni, with starting from 16 October next. Milana 2.294 holds shares of the company, and boasts about twenty-five years of experience in the Group. Entered ELV (current Spacelab) in 2002, he assumed increasing responsibility in propulsion engineering, launcher development and strategic program management, covering key roles in Vega, Vega-C, Vega-E and Space Rider programs. He led the Vega-C Return to Flight task force and, more recently, the STS In Flight Demonstrator cryogenic launch system, resulting in significant results in the management of particularly complex programs and contributing to the achievement of the company’s industrial objectives.
