Asp Messina, inaugurated two hospitals and three hub community houses

MESSINA (ITALPRESS) – Inaugurated this morning by the provincial health company two hospitals in the Cittadella Sanitaria and three houses of the community hub, the first always located in the same place, one in via del Vespro, and another in Pistunina in Messina. Among others were the Strategic Direction of the Asp of Messina, the Councillor for social policies of Messina Alessandra Calafiore, various regional and national deputies and numerous political, religious, military and social authorities. The Strategic Direction of the Asp of Messina – composed by the general manager Giuseppe Cuccì, the administrative director Giancarlo Niutta and the health director Giuseppe Ranieri Trimarchi – expresses “great satisfaction for the goal achieved, taking into account the long and challenging path that preceded these results”. “The structures – add – are the fruit of years of silent, tenacious and often tiring work. We had to confront ourselves with complex bureaucratic iter, with the need to respect stringent deadlines imposed by the Pnrr, with the management of simultaneous yards on several fronts and with the inevitable technical and logistic difficulties that characterize works of this magnitude. Every obstacle has been faced with determination, every sacrifice has been supported with the awareness that the ultimate goal was to offer citizens modern, affordable and quality healthcare facilities. Today we gather the fruits of an extraordinary collective commitment, which involved professionals, technicians, administrative and all the staff of the company. The infrastructures opened were funded through the funds of the Pnrr – Mission 6 Health, and we have distinguished ourselves in the regional field to have been among the first to win the funding and to bring them to completion in the expected time, even anticipating the contractual deadlines. To date we have created 4 of the 6 community hospitals programmed: in Patti, Barcelona Pozzo di Gotto and the two in Messina. In the coming weeks will be completed and inaugurated also those of Sant’Agata di Militello and Taormina”. “On the front of the Houses of the Community, with the three of today we reach quota 16 structures activated, of which 4 Hub and 12 spoke, on the entire provincial territory – continues -. In the coming weeks will be inaugurated also those of Lipari, Milazzo and Montalbano Elicona, and Sant’Agata di Militello thus completing the picture of the structures provided by the plan”. “With these openings – the Strategic Management concludes – the Asp of Messina strengthens its commitment to a model of assistance that focuses the patient and his family, offering concrete answers to the needs of the territory and helping to reduce inappropriate shelters and inconvenience linked to the distance from the places of care. These are strategic investments for the benefit of the entire Mexican community and the whole provincial area, oriented to an increasingly accessible, human and quality health”. The buildings that host the new community hospitals develop on a total surface of about 3,000 square meters, were finished in the times previewed the first by the executive company Co.in.sot srl, the second by As Construction srls. The work, carried out in full compliance with the anti-seismic, fire-fighting, hygienic-sanitary and accessibility rules (elimination of architectural barriers). The director of the work in both hospitals is the engineer Giovanna Pellegrino, under the supervision of the director of the complex operational unit Technical Office engineer Salvatore Trifiletti and the company’s unique representative for the Pnrr Elisa Mastrantonio. They are intermediate health structures, short-term, with prevalent nursing management. These presidencies play a key connection between the acute hospital and the patient’s domicile. From the organizational point of view, the spaces are divided into two modules of 20 beds each, with servsupport izi. Structural requirements include: single and double rooms with dedicated toilets; common areas for the socialization and well-being of the patient; spaces reserved for health personnel and rehabilitation activities; integrated technologies for diagnostics and telemedicine. Structural, organizational requirements have been envisaged as a step-down function by hospital resignations or step-ups to avoid inappropriate hospitalization and access through the territorial operational plant (COT), already implemented and activated in the same municipality. Community hospitals are aimed at patients who, as a result of an episode of minor acuzies or for the reacutization of chronic pathologies, need medical interventions at low clinical intensity potentially available at home, but who are admitted in these facilities in the absence of suitability of the domicile (structural and/or family) and need continuous nursing/health care, even at night. Also open the hub community houses in Messina. Think about offering a unique, integrated and multidisciplinary access point to healthcare and social-assistance services. Within them are doctors of general medicine, specialists, nursing staff and operators of social services and psychologists with the aim of ensuring a complete and coordinated takeover of the person. There are two key areas for spatial assistance: the macro-area “ proximity assistance”, dedicated to first-line health services. There are H24 or H12 medical care, nursing services, the unique access point (PUA) in the health and administrative field, as well as the branches and offices dedicated to social services, with the presence of social workers, prevention and home care operators; and the macro-area “primary hearts”, reserved for integrated group medicine, the Psychological care area. Here are the doctors of General Medicine (MMG), the pediatricians of free choice (PLS) and the nurses of family or community (IFoC), within spaces designed to promote work in teams and the interdisciplinary approach to care. Finally, there is a specialist macro-area dedicated to diagnostic services, basic diagnostic clinics, a withdrawal area and space for specialist visits. They are part of a broader strategic design aimed at enhancing the territorial network of health care and responding, with an integrated and multidisciplinary model, to the real needs of local communities.
