ROMA (ITALPRESS) – ITA Airways closes the third quarter of 2026 with a positive operating result and growing revenues compared to the same period of 2025. The first nine months also show a positive operating trend, despite the complexity of the geopolitical context and the impact of jet fuel relapse.
In the third trimester the Company has recorded revenues pairs to 995 million euros, in increase of 6% regarding the correspondent period of 2025. The EBIT (operative result) is positive for 94 million euros, in line with last year.
In the first nine months of 2026 the revenues exceeded 2,5 billion euros, with an increase of 4% regarding the same period of 2025. The EBIT is positive for 98 million euros, up 65% compared to last year.
The positive operating results are included in a context characterized by persistent geopolitical tensions and the increase in the cost of jet fuel, factors that have affected the air transport sector over the period and that the Company has managed to attenuate thanks to a hedging of over 80% of its fuel requirements for the current year.
The net result continues to weigh the effects of euro-dollar change, in a context of euro weakness. These effects are attributable to the accounting adjustment of foreign currency debts and credits, mainly in US dollars, at the end of the period exchange rates.
The impact of changes in exchange rates is a non-operational component of the result, distinct from the performance of the characteristic management, which highlights a positive EBIT both in the quarter and in the first nine months.
