MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The meeting of the Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini and Deputy Minister Rixi with the national associations of the road haulage began in prefecture in Milan. In the meantime, the protests of transporters for expensive fuel continue with new blocks in the streets of the South regions.

“We have been working on it for weeks. Yesterday I spent most of the day talking also with the individual transporters and with the individual associations, not national, but of some realities of the South, in Sicily, Campania and Puglia, who removed the highway blocks and on some arteries to allow to supply shops, pharmacies and supermarkets. So let’s say that the gesture of availability was there. We are working hard to give concrete answers today. The 430 million which are already budgeted, therefore already allocated, are available. However, in order to overcome the bureaucratic obstacles, we have imposed that they begin to be dispensed already this week, because many enterprises can not wait”. Thus the deputypremier and minister of Infrastructures and the Transports, Matteo Salvini, guest at Rtl 102.5 regarding the measures of support for the transporters.
“There will certainly be additional resources. There will also be a cash availability for the so-called Marebonus, son of European legislation outside the world and out of time. What we can tell the many transporters is that we will unblock the funds already there, the 430 million and, if possible, we will add more. There is then a further availability for the islands, I think of Sardinia and Sicily, which have the sea because there is still no bridge, to give a hand also to the intermodality and the sea crossing. There are also some issues related to the driver’s license, which has an expensive cost, and at the age: we would like to voluntarily increase, for those who will be in good health, the limit from 68 to 70 years, as in other European countries”, concluded Salvini.
