The Italian Reputation Awards 2026, for the first time at Carnegie Hall

On the stage that, over a century, has welcomed Čajkovskij, Toscanini and Caruso, today it was Italy to take the scene. The Carnegie Hall hosted the third edition of the Italian Reputation Awards, the award created by Davide Ippolito, founder and president of Italy America Reputation Lab, and created this year in collaboration with Campus Salute, chaired by Pasquale Antonio Riccio. On the second weekend of October, while New York is preparing to celebrate the Italian community, the prize paid tribute to six personalities who, each in their field, helped strengthen the reputation of Italy in the world.

Conducted by the journalist of sky tg24 Cristiana Mancini, the ceremony opened with the Italian and American national anthems, plastered by the students of the Italian school Guglielmo Marconi. Serena D’Andria recalled, through a text, the sufferings of the first generations of Italian immigrants, while actress Alice Lussiana Parente recited Emma Lazarus’ The New Colossus, the poem engraved on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of welcome for generations of immigrants. To accompany musically the ceremony was the master Francesco Pollon.

The winners of this edition are:

The 2026 edition also saw the debut of the Young Leader Under 30, the recognition dedicated to young Italians who are affirming themselves in the United States. The first prize, created in collaboration with United Italian Societies, went to Greta Fraraccio, athlete and startupper, and was delivered by Marco Giovanelli, founder and CEO of Piazza Italia New York.

During the ceremony there was also space for Campus Salute, the organization that offered over 150 thousand free visits to prevention and enjoys the consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Pasquale Antonio Riccio paid tribute to the doctors who, in these days, have put their skills in the service of the Italian community of New York at the Italian School Guglielmo Marconi: Pasquale Mugione, Domenico Veneziano, Marco Chiellini, Valentina Russo and Davide Mayol.

Each award has received a medal handcrafted by master goldsmith Marco De Luca, inspired by the coins of ancient Rome and dedicated to Eucleia, the Greek deity of good reputation.

“Often years ago, for many Italians arriving in America, being Italian was something to hide,” said Ippolito. “Today, here at Carnegie Hall, we did the opposite: we gave a name and a story to those who, with their work, helps to make Italy respected in the world. There is nothing left to hide. Being Italian is a reason for pride”.
