From today, Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th September 2026, 77 Italian brands present the Spring/Summer 2027 collections to the new edition of Coterie, the fair dedicated to women fashion that takes place twice a year at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
The Italian participation is organized by the ICE Agency, which will bring together in the same space companies of clothing, footwear, leather goods, bags, jewellery and other accessories. Fourteen of the 77 brands will be present for the first time in Coterie. The selection includes both brands already known from the American market and emerging realities.
The exhibition, organized by MGNET Group, occupies over 11,000 square meters and offers contemporary, advanced contemporary and designer collections. In addition to women’s fashion, there are also companies in the beauty, home décor and gift sectors.
The Italian presence comes in a complex phase for American imports of the fashion and accessories sector. In 2025 the value of American imports from Italy grew by 2.4% compared to the previous year. The Italian share on the US market fell to 3,93%, while Italy ranked eighth among the leading US suppliers, maintaining the first place among the EU countries.
In the first four months of 2026 the value of Italian imports remained substantially stable compared to the same period of 2025. In the same period, however, total US imports of fashion and accessories fell by about 55%. In this situation Italy has risen to fourth place among the suppliers of the American market.
The difficulties are also linked to international trade tensions and duties applied on certain European imports. For Italian brands, Coterie is an opportunity to meet buyers, distributors and American retailers.
The last edition of the fair involved more than 6,600 operators and more than 725 brands from over 50 countries. 78% of participants were directly involved in the purchase process, while over 68% covered executive or apical roles. 73% of buyers came from the North-East States, the area where a significant part of the American fashion market is concentrated, while 16% came from the South.
The ICE Agency has set up an ITA Lounge, designed as a space for meetings between Italian companies, buyers, press and industry operators. During the fair will be available espresso, breakfast and ice cream, with opening from 9 to 19 and, on 11 September, until 14.
The program also includes a photo shoot by photographer Samantha Rapp. The models will wear complete looks of the 77 Italian brands, allowing visitors to see the collections directly on the garments and not only on the stands. Images will then be shared with participating companies.
The Daily Front Row, publishing partner of the initiative, will follow the Italian presence with articles, newsletters, digital content and a special dedicated to the brands present in the Italian pavilion. The contents will be distributed both during the fair and through the site of the magazine and its social channels.
Influencer and content creator will make videos from Coterie and ITA Lounge spaces. Among the participants will be Steve Gonzalez, along with his videomaker group. There are also activities with creators and influencers on Instagram channels of The Daily Front Row and Extraitastyle.
On 9 and 10 September guests can receive a personalized illustration during the sessions curated by Pepe Muñoz. The activity will allow you to virtually insert participants in the looks of Italian brands. The buyers who visit the lounge will also be distributed a canvas bag inspired by Italian nautical clubs, with the words “Members Only: Italian Style”.
Italian brands will also be present in a digital directory and promotional videos broadcast on LED wall at the entrance of the event.
Participation in Coterie is part of a broader ICE Agency program to support Italian fashion in the United States. In 2026 the body has already participated in the February edition of Coterie and in the January and August editions of the Chicago Collective men’s fair.
In May he organized Italy on Madison, a three-day event dedicated to design, beauty, perfumery, eyewear, fashion and food&wine. The initiative brought together over 200 Italian brands and more than 600 guests at the headquarters of the ICE Agency on the Upper East Side. In June, however, ICE supported the participation of 23 Italian brands at the Miami Cabana swimwear fair.
In the coming months will also be updated Extraitastyle, the digital platform of the Agency dedicated to American retailers. The new site will include tools for wholesale purchases and a catalog with over 6,000 Italian products.
